Chava Appiah is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She most recently completed a one-year position in the Quapaw Quartet of the Arkansas Symphony.
She enjoys breaking down the wall between audience and performer, making music an interactive experience, and performed many lecture recitals during her four years as a New World Symphony fellow in Miami Beach.
Prior to New World, Chava studied at the New England Conservatory and Oberlin College and Conservatory, earning degrees in both Cello Performance and Neuroscience. Her teachers have been Natasha Brofsky, Catharina Meints, and Alan Rafferty.
In her free time, Chava enjoys reading, history, live music (especially Americana/folk/bluegrass and musicals) and spending time outdoors. She is an enthusiastic animal lover and proud cat mom.
