Kristin Welke is a graduate student pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in clarinet performance at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, studying with Professor Ixi Chen. She also holds an Artist Diploma from CCM, a Master of Music from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Kentucky, under the mentorship of Ronald Aufmann, Alexander Fiterstein and Dr. Scott Wright respectively. Kristin’s additional mentors include Herman Stefansson of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic in Sweden, Dr. Rebecca D’Alessio, and Mary Eisenreich. Kristin gigs regularly in the greater Cincinnati area and was a member of the Lexington Opera, Linden Clarinet Trio, and numerous outreach chamber ensembles. This year she will be joining Concert:Nova as a Next:Generation performer and administrative assistant. 

Kristin has been featured as a soloist with the Music for the Sake of Music Festival, Green Bay Heritage Players, Cincinnati College Conservatory's Chorale, Green Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra, Lakeshore Wind Ensemble, and the Young Musicians and Artists Connoisseur's Orchestra. 

Outside of performing, Kristin enjoys swimming and running, spending quality time with her cat, and is developing a program for Music Therapy with Premature Infants through UC and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
