Lauren Jett is a flutist and educator living in Cincinnati, OH. She is currently earning her DMA at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, studying with Amy Taylor. Previously, she earned her MM from CCM with Demarre McGill, and her BM from the University of Alabama under the instruction of Diane Boyd Schultz. Recently, she served as an administrative and teaching intern at the Virtual Flute Music Festival. Additionally, she was awarded third place in the 2024 COFA Young Artist Competition, first place in the National Federation of Music Clubs Orchestral Woodwinds Collegiate Competition, and named winner of the Ernest A. Bluhm Flute Award. She is a recipient of the Graduate Incentive Award (CCM), Rodgers-Dean Music Scholarship, Norwood Music Scholarship, and Alabama Band Scholarship. A current member of the CCM Philharmonia Orchestra and Wind Symphony, she has also performed with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, as well as in the University of Alabama Huxford Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble. Previously, she has been involved with the Bremerton (WA) Youth Symphony Orchestra, where she served as principal flute from 2015-2017. She also participated as a performer in the Linda Chesis Virtual Flute Retreat in 2021, and attended the Bay View Music Festival in 2019. In her free time, Lauren enjoys reading, bullet journaling, and running her social media platforms on Instagram and Tiktok, where she shares her musical journey as well as emphasizes the importance of mental health for musicians.
