Molly Rains (Hickey) was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. She currently performs as a member of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra (IN), Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, and works full-time as Community Engagement Events Manager with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in Masterclasses with world-class pedagogues and performers, including Won-Bin Yim, Janet Sung, Ray Chen, and Gabriel Pegis. She has an extensive orchestral and chamber background, having performed with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra (TX), Lakeridge Chamber Orchestra (TX), Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale (TX), Lima Symphony Orchestra, and Springfield Symphony. She also loves Musical Theater & Broadway, recently performing solo violin for NKU’s “Amelie” and Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati’s “Fun Home”. She holds performance degrees from Miami University of Ohio (BM) and Texas Tech University (MM).
Molly is also a certified Suzuki Violin instructor, with experience teaching Suzuki private & group lessons for Immanuel School of Music (KY), Suzuki Talent Education of the Lubbock Region (TX), and Cincinnati Music Village in Blue Ash, Ohio.
