Born in Beijing, China, violist Muning Wang is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Viola Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (UC/CCM) with conducting as her cognate, where she studies under Catharine Lees and Aik Khai Pung. She also received her Master’s Degree in Viola Performance from UC-CCM with Graduate Incentive Award, and Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance from Renmin University of China (RUC), where she studied under Yue Qi.
As an active musician, Muning has been performing as an orchestral violist with Lima Syphony Orchestra, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Owensboro Symphony Orchestra and Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. Prior to her conservatory career, Muning also performed in Australia, Vienna, Ireland, and China. As a passionate chamber musician, Muning is the violist of the Ember string quartet, she has studied with members of Calidore string quartet and Juilliard string quartet.
